Full of bliss, giving transcendental joy,
the abode of the highest knowledge,

known to all as the Supreme Self.

Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service to him. These Self-realised souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have realised the truth.
And when you have thus learned the truth, you will know that all living beings are but part of Me (Spirit)- and that they are in Me, and are mine.

Commentary on this verse by Roy Eugene Davis: Material causes cannot cause spiritual effects. For instance, good behaviour does not cause enlightenment, but good behaviour can allow the unfoldment of consciousness just as misbehaviour can restrict spiritual growth.
Constructive behaviour can allow a constructive flow of soul force; destructive karma impedes the natural flow, This is why we cultivate constructive qualities and minimise the destructive ones. Virtue, as another instance , is not purity in itself, but allows purity to manifest
That Supreme Being, beyond the limitations of space, time, and causation, is the true guru, the teacher of even the ancient teachers.
